one of those conversations...

The below conversation took place as my sister, Emman and I were chatting about dog owners giving their furkids up for adoption.

me: Let's say, if you have 2 babies... toddlers at home. It would be too much. 2 kids and 2 dogs. Where to find the time for them? So, you probably will have to give the dogs up for adoption.
jas: If it's me, I will give the children up for adoption.
me: Keep the dogs, give the kids up?
jas: Ya, because human beings are better equipped to look after themselves.
me: And it's easier to find people who will adopt children, rather than dogs. (turns to em) You? What would you give up?
em: I don't have a dog.
me: Ok, how about, what would you rather have? Kids or pets? A kid or a dog?
em: (silence)
me: Do you want a child or a dog?
em: ... (2 secs of silence) I want a plasma TV.
me: (rolls eyes)
